Southwest Surgical Associates is proud to welcome Dr. Preeti Singh, a board-certified general surgeon with a special focus in breast surgery. A New York native with deep Houston roots, Dr. Singh is thrilled to serve the community she now calls home.
Dr. Singh brings a wealth of expertise to her practice, with clinical interests spanning breast disease and cancer, hernias, gallbladder disease, appendicitis, and colorectal conditions. She is skilled in minimally invasive, laparoscopic, and robotic surgical techniques, and incorporates Enhanced Recovery pathways to help patients heal comfortably and return to their lives as quickly as possible.
Her academic background is equally impressive. Dr. Singh conducted research in surgical oncology and breast disease at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, with a focus on breast cancer genetics, cancer susceptibility genes, and the application of artificial intelligence in clinical decision support. She completed her general surgery training at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center, where she also served as Education Chief Resident, following preliminary training at Montefiore Medical Center in New York.
At the heart of Dr. Singh’s practice is a commitment to compassionate, individualized care. She takes the time to listen to each patient’s concerns, clearly explain their options, and build a personalized treatment plan — especially for those navigating a cancer diagnosis. Her approach combines evidence-based medicine with the kind of warmth and attentiveness every patient deserves.
When she’s not in the operating room, Dr. Singh enjoys traveling, reading, and cooking. We are excited to have her as part of our team.
